This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and developing the technology that underpins both the Museum’s internal operations and its public-facing experiences. You will contribute to the delivery of reliable IT and audio-visual services, enabling colleagues to work effectively while ensuring visitors benefit from seamless and engaging interactions.

Combining hands-on technical support with project delivery, the role offers the chance to work across a wide range of technologies and initiatives, contributing to the Museum’s strategic priorities, including public engagement, digital transformation, and the ongoing development of its technical infrastructure.

The Technical Services Engineer will also have the opportunity to contribute to research and development activities and will be supported in developing their technical skills and experience.

Librarian

The National Army Museum is home to a unique research collection that brings together books, journals, archives and other resources documenting over 350 years of British Army history. We're seeking an enthusiastic Librarian to help care for these nationally significant collections and make them accessible to everyone including curators, academics, family historians, students and military researchers.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the Museum's Archives, Library and Information team. You'll be responsible for developing and managing the library collections, improving access through cataloguing and digitisation, and delivering an excellent research and reader service from our Templer Study Centre.

Learning Producer

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Learning Producer to research, develop, co-ordinate and deliver our vibrant and participatory schools programme with an emphasis on younger age groups and SEN/SEND. The post-holder will deliver our onsite and virtual workshops as well as have the opportunity to research and design new sessions and resources for the target audiences.

The post-holder will be an organised self-starter and a passionate advocate for museum learning and confident in working with children and young people.

Events Assistant - Venue Hire

We are seeking to appoint an Events Assistant to join our passionate and dedicated Venue Hire team. This is an exciting role in which you will be the initial point of contact for all event hire enquiries. 

The successful candidate will support in managing and co-ordinating enquiries utilising exceptional communication and selling skills to engage clients, develop client relationships, grow the Museum’s venue hire profile and reputation and drive sales and conversion.

The successful candidate will have at least 12 months' experience in an events, hospitality or high-end customer-facing operation, be highly organised, able to multi-task, be a team player, enjoy interacting with clients, have a positive outlook and will be hands-on in the planning, co-ordination and set-up of events.

Enthusiastic, personable and motivated, the successful candidate will be able to confidently take on responsibility and relish the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the growth of our venue hire offer and further develop their skills and knowledge.

About our staff

The National Army Museum employs staff in all of the specialist areas relating to our collections, including Archives and Library, Curatorial and Research, Collections Care, Exhibitions, Learning and Public Programmes.

In addition, we have staff providing other services, including Commercial and Visitor Experience, Technical Services, Development Fundraising, Facilities, Finance and Administration, Human Resources, and Audiences and Communications.

The Museum employs around 100 members of staff in both full- and part-time positions, who are located either at the museum building in Chelsea or at our purpose-built storage and conservation facility in Stevenage. A team of volunteers supports our work.
